Meet Our Chef

Katrina Young is a distinguished alumna of the 2014 Culinary Management program at Niagara College. During her academic tenure, she showcased her culinary ambitions as a member of the Canadian Junior Culinary Olympic team, representing Canada at prestigious international competitions such as the World Culinary Cup in Luxembourg, where they secured both gold and silver medals for Canada. Following her initial professional experiences, Katrina pursued further culinary education by completing the Advanced French Pastry program at George Brown College in Toronto in conjunction with Ecole National Superieur de Patisserie in France. She also undertook a valuable staging experience at the renowned two-star Michelin restaurant, Bernard Loiseau, in Saulieu, France. Upon completion of her training, Katrina honed her skills as a pastry chef for five years at the esteemed Shangri-la Hotel in Toronto, Ontario. In 2023, she relocated to Cape Breton, where she currently applies her culinary expertise at Markland Coastal Resorts, crafting exquisite desserts and culinary creations for patrons.
